Doctrinal statement
WE BELIEVE that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is verbally inspired by God, making it without error in the original writings, and is the supreme authority for our faith and lives.
WE BELIEVE that there is only one true God--the divine Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; eternally coexistent, and in equal essence and attributes, yet distinct in office and activity.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man: born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed numerous miracles, died on the cross for the sins of the whole world, and bodily rose from the grave, providing the only way of salvation.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and remains at God the Father's right hand until His return to earth, so that believers may and should pray directly to the Father through the Son without any other heavenly mediation, and so that He too might intercede for His people.
WE BELIEVE that all people will exist eternally, either in heaven or hell; and that only personal faith in Christ will assure one of heaven.
WE BELIEVE that acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior should be followed by a constant striving to submit to Him as Lord of our lives.
WE BELIEVE that Holy Spirit convicts of sin, baptizes each believer into the body of Christ at the time of the new birth, indwells and enables godly living, and bestows spiritual gifts on each for service.
WE BELIEVE that the universal church of Jesus Christ is a living spiritual body whose members consist of all regenerated persons and whose head is Jesus Christ Himself.
WE BELIEVE that the local church is a group of believers in Jesus Christ, immersed in water upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and associated together voluntarily for worship, fellowship and service.
WE BELIEVE that the local church should baptize believers by immersion and share in the Lord's Supper, in accordance with the two ordinances given by Christ.
WE BELIEVE that the local church is independent and autonomous, and therefore must be free from interference from ecclesiastical and governmental authority.
WE BELIEVE that our Lord Jesus Christ will bodily resurrect every believer who has died, will gather all believers to Himself and reward them according to their faithfulness to Him.
WE BELIEVE that our Lord Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to earth in certain fulfillment of all biblical prophecies and His own promises.
